Scouting For Food 2019

Scouting for Food is our Pack's annual service project.  The event occurs over two Saturdays, and each family must participate in at least one of the two Saturdays.  Please mark these dates on your calendar: 11/9/2019 and 11/16/2019

In conjunction with Boy Scout Troop 103, we carry out a food drive for the Alameda County Food Bank.  Last year, Scouts in the SFBAC collected over 112,000 lbs of food!

On the first Saturday, we gather with Troop 103 and divide into smaller groups that hang flyers on the doors of neighborhood homes.  This activity is appropriate for all ages.

On the second Saturday, we divide into smaller groups that go into the neighborhoods and collect bags of food that have been left out as donations.  All ages are welcome, but some of the younger Scouts may find the lifting of bags of cans to be too heavy.  Parent  volunteers are always welcome.
