Vroom vroom ... Pinewood Derby 2016 !

posted Dec 10, 2015, 12:01 AM by Shirley Davis   [ updated Dec 10, 2015, 12:09 AM ]

The dates for the Pinewood Derby and Workshops have been announced.  All dates, times and locations are posted in the Pack calendar.

We will have two workshop dates in January, to provide Cubs and their parents with power building tools.  Derby kits will be handed out later this month.  Derby rules are posted in the Resource Center (Documents).  The Derby takes place the first weekend in February.

Finally, please take some time to add your name to the Pinewood Derby Volunteer List. There's a lot of effort needed to have a successful event, but many volunteers means less effort for each individual.  Thank you, parents, for all you do for Pack 199!

Scouting For Food

posted Oct 22, 2015, 10:51 PM by Shirley Davis

Scouting for Food has been a project of the Boy Scouts of America for decades.  Scouts go out on one weekend, place informational hangers on the doors of their neighbors, and come back one week later to pick up the food and take it to a local food bank.

Pack 199 starts its Scouting for Food drive immediately after its Pancake Breakfast. Tigers usually only participate for the first weekend, as donation bags can get heavy.
