Vroom vroom ... Pinewood Derby 2016 !
The dates for the Pinewood Derby and Workshops have been announced. All dates, times and locations are posted in the Pack calendar. We will have two workshop dates in January, to provide Cubs and their parents with power building tools. Derby kits will be handed out later this month. Derby rules are posted in the Resource Center (Documents). The Derby takes place the first weekend in February. Finally, please take some time to add your name to the Pinewood Derby Volunteer List. There's a lot of effort needed to have a successful event, but many volunteers means less effort for each individual. Thank you, parents, for all you do for Pack 199! |
Scouting For Food
Scouting for Food has been a project of the Boy Scouts of America for decades. Scouts go out on one weekend, place informational hangers on the doors of their neighbors, and come back one week later to pick up the food and take it to a local food bank. Pack 199 starts its Scouting for Food drive immediately after its Pancake Breakfast. Tigers usually only participate for the first weekend, as donation bags can get heavy. |
Pancake Breakfast
Pack 199 kicks off the annual Scouting For Food community service project with a breakfast prepared by Webelos 2. Families and friends of Cub Scouts are invited to attend the breakfast. Tickets are on sale ahead of time for $5 per person, or at the event for $8 per person. The breakfast is at Warm Springs Elementary from 7 - 8 am on November 14. See the attached flyer for more details. |
